Should you lie on a sales call?

I don't care who you are or how many followers you have. I don't care if this Maccchiavellian approach has worked for you in the past.

Lying is wrong.

It's wrong on principle because it hurts people. It hurts your own integrity.

But it's also wrong pragmatically because if you want to play the long game of building a sustainable, world class business, you need clients to trust you.

Do you think Apple, Costco, Hewlett-Packard, General Electric built a business by tricking customers?

A lie always comes out. Human beings can literally feel a lie--energetically.

A lie is a refuge of someone who's not willing to do the work. Someone who cuts corners.

It can work in the short term, but the long-term damage is catastrophic.

Honesty and integrity run circles around liars.
